Tots Tennis - Tots Tennis (2-5yrs) at Wantage Tennis Club

This session is for 2-5 year olds just starting out in tennis. They will develop their hand eye coordination through fun games and drills.

Mini Tennis - Autumn17 Mini Red Rally (5-6yrs) 09.00 at Charterhouse School, Godalming

Duke's Drive, Godalming, GU7 2RS 09th Sep–16th Dec • 9.00am–9.55am Note: No session will take place on 28th October due to half term

These sessions are for children in Reception or Year 1 who are new to the game. They will play on a smaller sized court with lower compression balls and learn the building blocks of holding the racket, making contact with the ball and moving around the court. Each session contains lots of fun games to accelerate progression and build confidence.

These sessions are a fantastic way to discover tennis, teaching key hand-eye co-ordination skills and whole-body movements that will help tots progress very quickly when they are old enough to join a Mini tennis group. Tots love meeting similar groups week by week and mastering fun tennis-based games like 'knees to tress', 'stamp the parcel' and 'super sand castles'. All children are aged between 3-5, and the coaches take special care to ensure each child learns in the way that suits them best.

Mini Red tennis is for 5-8 year olds, and helps them grow in their confidence on court. Using smaller courts and special red balls which bounce lower and move slower, this is an excellent way for young players to pick up good technique at an early stage, have long rallies and play different types of shot

This mixed ability/age session are for children who have played Mini Red Tennis for approximately 1 year and are getting to grips with making contact with the ball coming over the net. They will continue to work on fun drills and games that build up skills. These players might take part in competition to accelerate development.

Mini Orange tennis is for 8-9 year olds, and uses orange balls which are slightly bouncier and faster than red balls, and helps players develop a rounded game whilst learning a range of techniques and tactics. It is great fun, and players can improve very quickly.

Mini Green tennis is for 9-10 year olds, and is faster and more demanding than mini orange groups, testing children as they improve their physical co-ordination and ability. Played on a full-size court, green players are developing more tactical skills, learning to make use of the extra space by constructing rallies and working on creating angles on the court.
